Discover the Fascinating History and Lush Nature of Patagonia on a Tour from Estancia Ernesto Helmer!

Welcome by a local guide, we will explore caves, lenga forests, and the impressive viewpoint of Laguna Sofía. Observe various birds and condors, discover unique rock paintings, and explore the ancient stalactites and stalagmites in the La Ventana and Escondida caves.

We will continue towards Los Aleros Dos Herraduras, immersed in a centenary forest. With 8 km of enriching hiking, we will culminate the experience with a traditional lunch in our Quincho.

Reception
  • Arrival at Estancia Ernesto Helmer and reception by the local guide.
  • Welcome talk to learn about the history and surroundings of the estancia.

Beginning of the tour
  • Start of the tour along the trail, exploring the geological formations in the cave area.
  • Continuing along the trail through the Lenga forest until reaching the viewpoint of Laguna Sofía

Observation of nature
Enjoy the panoramic views at the viewpoint, observing condors and various bird species.

Rock paintings
Passing by the rock walls to appreciate the rock paintings and explore the Window Cave.

Hidden Cave
Visit to the Hidden Cave to admire the ancient stalactites and stalagmites, along with the archaeological sites.

Return
  • We begin the return journey heading towards the Los Aleros Dos Herraduras area, immersed in a centuries-old lenga forest.
  • The trek concludes after an 8 km walk at the starting point.

Option to arrange a traditional lunch (roast lamb or barbecue) in the Quincho made from recycled materials.
